Full Bio

Jalen Dobson currently attends Kennesaw State University and is pursuing two bachelor's degrees. One in Trumpet Performance and the other in Music Education. Currently he is in his third year of undergraduate college ,and Jalen has studied under trumpet professors Douglas Lindsey and Mike Tiscione.

He has a passion for classical trumpet playing at the highest possible level and strives to improve everyday. His ambitions have led him to become principal trumpet in Kennesaw State University’s Orchestra and Wind Ensemble. While there he has been fortunate to perform as principal on pieces such as Pictures at an Exhibition and Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony.

Jalen is a very active member of the Kennesaw State University Trumpet Studio. He has been in the studio’s National Trumpet Competition ensemble for all three years he has attended KSU. The Ensemble has been selected for the Quarter Final round all three years that he has been a part of it. He was also selected to attend the National Trumpet Competition as a Semifinalist in the 2022 Solo Division. His other solo performances include the finalist round of KSU’s Concerto Competition and the Student Honors Recital at Trumpet Festival of the Southeast.
